Morning Carpool Reminders

Please make sure to read these reminders...
  1. DO NOT drop your child off anywhere other than the front carpool line where we have adults and safety patrol.
  2. Carpool is over at 7:45am which is our school start time. If the line is running long, we will continue opening doors for the cars who were in line at 7:45am.
  3. The BEST thing you can do is try to arrive by 7:30am. That gives your child time to get to class and get settled before the 7:45am bell rings.
  4. If you are trying to walk across the carpool line to enter the school, please yield to the traffic and wait until someone motions for you to cross.
  5. Please do not use your cell phone while in the carpool line.
  6. Please use a slow speed and stay on the lookout for children, adults, and other cars.
Thank you for helping us have a smooth start to our day!

Attention 4th Graders...

Do you want to help keep students safe during AM or PM carpool? Consider joining Safety Patrol this year!

safety patrol
We are searching for 4th grade students who are interested in serving on our Safety Patrol team. 4th grade students will serve on Safety Patrol during the 3rd and 4th nine weeks. This schedule will run from Tuesday, January 6 - Thursday, May 21, 2026. You should only apply for this position if you want to help keep Greystone safe and can commit to keeping up with this responsibility.

Morning patrols must be at their post by 7:10 a.m. Afternoon patrols should plan to be on duty until 3:05 p.m. Parents need to be sure their child will be at school during their designated time. We do not want patrols arriving late for their post or leaving early. Students can apply to work specific days and shifts.

Being a member of Safety Patrol is a position of leadership. We appreciate the work our patrols do and the time they give to the school. Safety patrol members must realize this is a commitment and they will be expected to be on post at their scheduled time.

Fourth graders who consistently serve on the safety patrol team during the second semester will earn a special incentive before we get out for summer break. They will also earn HOUSE points each shift. Attendance will be checked daily.

If you would like to serve as a safety patrol during the second semester, please fill out this Google Form.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Thompson (kathompson@hoover.k12.al.us).
