I am very fortunate to have lived my entire life in Hoover. After graduating from W.A. Berry High School, I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education from Samford University. Since then, I have earned a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Administration Certification, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I earned my doctorate in Educational Leadership from Samford University in 2018.
I began my career teaching early intervention at Green Valley Elementary School. After serving in that capacity for a semester, I taught kindergarten for a year at Bluff Park Elementary. After staying home to raise my family, I returned to Bluff Park where I taught 2nd grade and 1st grade. I served as interim assistant principal at Greystone for the 2013-2014 school year and was hired as Greystone's assistant principal in May 2014. It is an honor to have served as the principal of Greystone since June of 2016.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Scotty, and we have four children, two daughter-in-laws, one son-in-law, and 4 grandchildren.
Greystone Elementary is a school filled with exemplary teachers and staff and wonderful students. I enjoy spending time reading to classes, listening to students read to me, playing math games with students, and experiencing school alongside our students. After school, you might catch me reading a book, playing board games with my family, or working puzzles.
