We learned lots of new words this week!

The "What is my word?" posters are so much fun. We will keep them on the walls for awhile so our students can enjoy them.
Our Vocabulary Parade was spectacular this year. Thanks so much to all of those who worked hard at home helping their child prepare and to those who came to watch.
We appreciate your patience as we strive to utilize Circool for large events so that we can maintain the safety in our building. We have learned some things for us to try in the future.
Please know that we will keep working hard to make this an efficient process and you can help by making sure you are responding when invited to events through email. I am so glad we were able to parade around two times so that everyone could see all the wonderful words and costumes. I think we need to do this EVERY year because you work so hard on this, we need to cherish it a little longer.
We will not use the event system for Fine Arts Night, but hope to have a few things figured out for Friends and Family Lunch days.
**Check our social media for more pictures from the parade.

virtual Art show
The art show serves as fundraiser for the art department. You can purchase your child's art framed! Right now, the online portion is up and you can go ahead and view and purchase if you would like and then at the art show you can just pick up your piece of art and go OR if you cannot attend, it will be delivered to your student or students the next day!
*The link is also great if you have family in other places. You can share this with them and they can see what your child made!

Kindness Challenge for World Kindness Day coming on November 13th

Kindness BINGO

Sponsored by Amistad

Each student received a Bingo card to complete between now and Nov. 13th.

Once completed, students will turn it into their classroom teacher. The house that had the most participation with completed bingo cards will be the overall winner.

As the winner of the kindness challenge, Tiffany Rockwell from Paper Pie is donating 4 books to our library "in honor" of the house kindness challenge winner.

Amistad is "sponsoring" this challenge but any house can win based on participation.

Time to Write Letters to Santa

Families, if your child would like to write a letter to Santa, it could be featured in Enjoy Hoover Magazine! Students are encouraged to include a holiday-themed drawing or picture on the same page as their letter. Please send letters to our art teacher by November 11 for a chance to be published in the magazine’s December issue.

It is Finley Nomination Time!

Each year, HCS and the Finley Committee honor individuals in our schools who exemplify outstanding character. One employee and a twelfth-grade student from each high school will be recognized and celebrated at the annual Finley Character Recognition Awards Program in March.

We invite you to be part of this tradition by recommending a deserving employee or high school student. The deadline for recommendations is December 1.
