Student Technology Resources

Most of the below resources will require the student’s login information. 

• The student’s username is a 10 digit number (Ex: 195xxxxxxx). 
• The student’s email address is the above with @hcs-students.net (Ex: 195xxxxxx@hcs-students.net)
• Each child has a unique password.  Check with the school and/or teacher if you need help with a student password. Teachers should not share passwords via email. 

Chrome Login

What is Chrome?

• Chrome is a Web Browser made by Google.
• From the Chrome Browser, students can easily access their Hoover City Schools Google Account.
• The directions below only apply to personal home devices. 

Sign in directions for a Windows/Mac computer:

1. Download and install the Chrome Browser Google Chrome
2. After you have installed the program, open Chrome.
3. In the top right, click the button with your name or people.
4. Click Sign in to Chrome.
5. Sign in to your Google Account using your Hoover email and password.
6. If you want to sync your info to your device, 
   1. Click your profile picture.
   2. Click turn on sync, click Link Data, click Yes I am in

Sign in directions for tablets:

1. Visit your tablet’s app store and search for the Google Chrome app.
2. Sign in to the app using your HCS Google Account.

Clever Login

What is Clever?

• Clever is an online portal for easy access to commonly used learning applications. 
• Students can access a district page as well as a customized teacher page.
• Learning applications may include district paid resources, links to webpages, and links to teacher created documents.

Sign in directions for Chromebook:

1. Open Chrome. 
2. Clever should open as your homepage. If not, click the home button near the address bar.

Sign in directions for computer:

1. Go to Clever
2. Click Log in with Google.
3. Enter your child’s email address and password.

Sign in directions for tablets:

1. Download the Clever app.
2. Click Log in with Google.
3. Enter your child’s email address and password.
